Martha Pigott is a litigation attorney in the Buffalo office of The Barnes Firm. Prior to joining The Barnes Firm, Martha worked in business litigation at another prestigious Buffalo law firm, handling a variety of matters, including personal injury cases, contract disputes, and labor and employment litigations. Martha has litigation experience at both the state and federal level.
Prior to starting her legal career, Martha held a clerkship position with the Hon. Eugene Fahey of the New York Court of Appeals. She also held an internship position with Assemblywoman Monica Wallace where she assisted the legislative director on various matters.
Martha graduated from Hobart and William Smith Colleges with a B.A. in Public Policy, and then joined the United States Peace Corps where she served two years in Malawi, East Africa. A Buffalo native, Martha ultimately returned to her roots, enrolling at the University of Buffalo School of Law where she earned her J.D. with honors.
Martha is happy to be back in the City of Good Neighbors, and maintains ties to Africa through her work with the Brick Foundation, a non-profit organization she founded with her brother, assisting underprivileged communities.
